New Erasmus + programme 2021 - 2027 : even more ambitious !

The Erasmus + French agency organised a national online conference on January 14 to present the new Erasmus + programme for the 2021-2027 period. The call for proposals and the new guide are due to be published this spring.

The conference was very informative ! Here are some key points :

The Erasmus + accreditation is the entry ticket that gives access to Erasmus + funding. This accreditation is valid for a period of seven years (2021 - 2027) and this is an important element of the new programme. This allows you to therefore plan your medium and long-term goals. For institutions in France that have already applied for Erasmus + accreditation, the results were communicated on February 26th. For those who have not yet made their request, it is still possible to do so by responding to the call for proposal published annually.

The budget for the new Erasmus + program for the period 2021 - 2017 amounts to more than 26 billion euros, an increase of more than 80% compared to the 2014 – 2020 period.

Social inclusion is at the heart of the new agenda. An additional budget line has therefore been dedicated to this. The aim is to make the programme accessible to more citizens.

The interns and student population in vocational training courses are in particular priority beneficiaries of the new programme.

The environment and our carbon footprint are also important issues within the new programme and all project leaders will have to integrate these elements into their projects. A financial incentive is planned to encourage “soft mobility” for example (traveling by train).

From 2021 onwards, within the Key Action 1, adult learners (little or non-qualified adults) will also be able to go on Erasmus… a new element of the programme ! In addition, all organisations, public or private, which support adults in non-formal or informal learning, are eligible : social centers, education associations, cultural institutions, museums, libraries, local authorities… the list goes on !
